PARISH ACTIVITIES

Justice & Peace
Tour of CWD projects - weekday during office hours. Please sign up on
list at back of church.

Catholic Welfare and Development (CWD) has many very interesting welfare and development projects that are in operation all over the peninsula. They have offered to host a tour of the various projects that our parishioners might be interested in. This would take place on a weekday during office hours. If you are interested in joining a tour, please put your name on the list at the back of the church. CWD does the most incredible work, and this is an ideal opportunity to see the difference these programmes make in parts of Cape Town that need it most.

Outreach Programme

Through the Outreach Programme our parish reaches out to and supports many of the underprivileged communities around us. Read more about what we do on the Outreach page. You can also read about some recent projects that our parish has supported in the visit reports to Prinses Vlei and Grassy Park

We would like to welcome more Sacristans especially Sunday evening mass, if you can help out, please phone Brenda 021 794 5563 or the office.

Bible Sunday
Sunday, August 29

Celebrating the Word. We enthrone the bible to remind ourselves that as Christians, the word of God is central in our lives. Living with the word brings unity and gives depth in our lives. In it we come into contact with Christ in whom we find, “All the hidden treasures of God’s wisdom and knowledge: - Col 2:3”

Prayer to be said by all when the Bible is enthroned:
Father, we come before you today to reaffirm our commitment to your word.
We believe that each one of us is called to be like your son in the world, a light to the nations. With the guidance and inspiration of your spirit, we will bring your word to your people. We know this is your will for us and therefore we trust in your continued love and protection. Amen.

St Thérèse "little way" of trusting in Jesus to make her holy and relying on small daily sacrifices instead of great deeds. “May prayer and sacrifice be your whole strength; these are invincible arms; they, far better than words, can move hearts, I know it by experience.”
Prayer to St Thérèse: St Thérèse of the Child Jesus of the Holy Face, remember thy promise to do good upon earth, shower down thy roses on those who invoke thee and obtain for us from God the graces we hope for from His infinite goodness. Amen
